The Apprentice star is threatening to sue the organizer of a campaign, dubbed Dump Trump, which he claims has interfered with his business relationship with Macy’s.  The department store carries Trump’s line of clothes, and he has appeared in its commercials.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Trump’s attorney has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Angelo Carusone, the organizer of Dump Trump.

The campaign includes a petition on SignOn.org urging Macy’s to sever ties with The Donald, citing his “unpleasant, nasty and despicable behavior.”  As one example, the petition argues that Trump has “perpetuated the racially charged birther conspiracy, repeatedly arguing that President Obama has been lying and was not born in the United States.”

The campaign has also been featured on mobile billboards in New York and Cincinnati, where Macy’s is headquartered.

In his letter, Trump’s lawyer argues that Carusone’s mission has been to interfere with Trump’s relationship with Macy’s and other parties “through mob-like bullying and coercion.”  The letter threatens a lawsuit of at least $25 million if the campaign continues.

Carusone isn’t backing down, telling The Hollywood Reporter that Trump is the one who engages in bullying and that Trump’s brand is “inconsistent with the Macy’s brand.”
