The Sharks (7-1-1, 15 pts) led 1-0 before Saku Koivu tied the game early in the third period.  Defenseman Sheldon Souray scored the go-ahead goal with 6:39 remaining to give the Ducks (6-1-1, 13 pts) the victory.

“I think it just shows that we can compete with every team in the league,” Souray said. “San Jose is a great team. We played them hard last week up there and didn’t get the result that we wanted. Tonight we had everybody going, and our goaltending was amazing.”

Victor Fasth stopped 25 shots on his way to becoming the first Anaheim goalie to win his first three NHL starts.
