The Thunder recently traded backup point guard Eric Maynor, so they are looking to fill his void. ESPN is also reporting that Fisher will sign a contract with the team Monday.

Fisher, who is a 17-year NBA veteran, played for the Thunder last season while appearing in 20 games for the team in the regular season.

The 28-year-old Fisher last played with the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season but was granted his release from the team in December because he suffered a knee injury and wanted to be closer to his family in Los Angeles.

While he is not the player he once was, Fisher is still a productive player at this stage of his career. He averaged 8.6 points per game for the Mavericks and was popular in the locker room when he was with the Thunder last season. He will be counted on more as a coach than a player.

Fisher has won five NBA Championships since entering the league in 1996 and has career averages of 8.6 points and 3.4 assists per game.
