(BOISE, ID)  —  A bill being debated in the Idaho House of Representatives would set aside as much as $1.4 million for charter schools. Supporters say the measure would serve as an equalizer to make funds available for building improvements. Idaho’s charter schools can’t ask local voters for a levy because of their non-traditional status. The proposal would provide 20 percent of facility costs the first year, then up to 30 percent by 2015.
