The Celtics forward hit a turnaround fadeaway with 8:08 to play in the second quarter, to reach the mark.

“I’m sure some day it will mean something to me,” Garnett said to Turner Sports after the game. “You know, I’ve been in the league long enough, I should be able to do something like this. I’m more than grateful. I take care of my body, I take care of myself…I pray. I thank God for all of the opportunities, that I’ve been able to play this game and display my talents in front of so many…for so long. I’m blessed man.”

Garnett can add this to a long list of accomplishments both personal and team related. The 6-foot-11 253-pound KG won the 2003-04 NBA MVP, the 2007-08 NBA Defensive Player of the Year and will be playing in his 15th All-Star game this season. He also helped the Celtics win a record 17th NBA Championship during the 2007-08 season.
