(POCATELLO, ID) — Heinz is laying off 80 full-time workers at its Pocatello plant. Officials say the layoffs go into effect March 4. The move comes after the discontinuation of T.G.I. Friday’s frozen meals, which Heinz produced. Schedules will be adjusted to maximize efficiency for more than 300 workers keeping their jobs. The company determined that their frozen entrees weren’t popular enough to warrant further production, opting to focus efforts on producing frozen snacks instead.
