The Lakers (23-26) were without starters Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace, but were able to close the Nets (28-20) out down the stretch with some key plays by Kobe Bryant.

Lakers forward Pau Gasol left the game in the fourth quarter after straining the plantar fascia in his right foot.  He in scheduled to undergo an MRI Wednesday.

“It feels good to pull out a win like this, but now reality kind of sets in,” Bryant said, referring to the team’s third-straight win. “If Pau can’t go and Dwight can’t go, we have to figure some things out.”

Bryant finished with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Steve Nash chipped in 17 points and eight assists.

Brook Lopez led the Nets in defeat with 30 points and 11 boards.
