(BOISE, ID)  — An alliance of Republican lawmakers is backing two state measures meant to bolster gun rights. The bills come in response to President Barack Obama’s calls for more background checks on gun buyers and bans on high-capacity magazines. Rep. Judy Moyle of Midvale says one bill could strengthen the power of local law enforcement to resist federal gun confiscations, while another bill would create a new category for a concealed weapons permit requiring more training.
