119960 Rafting Salt River

(BOISE, ID)  —  Rejected applicants hoping for a rafting permit along the Selway and Middle Fork of the Salmon rivers will have their chances for drawing a permit doubled the following year, according to a new measure from the U.S. Forest Service. Officials say they’d like to see all applicants experience the pristine central Idaho wilderness, and the proposal would vastly increase those chances over time. Chances of drawing a permit for the Middle Fork are around 1 in 25, while the odds are steeper at 1 in 47 for the Selway.
