Man Killed in Snowmobile Crash

(ISLAND PARK, ID) — The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly snowmobile accident that happened in Island Park Saturday night. Deputies say the crash killed a man along a trail in the Box Canyon area Saturday evening. The 56-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, struck a tree with his snowmobile and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say this was the second fatal snowmobile accident in Fremont County in less than a month. Investigators are cautioning snowmobilers to avoid traveling at night and off of established trails.
