Clare Niederhauser

(LAYTON, UT)  —  A Layton , Utah  man who was arrested after shooting at a man who burglarized his home has reached a plea deal with prosecutors. Clare Niederhauser agreed to a lessened charge of a class B misdemeanor for discharging his weapon within city limits. He will also have to pay $700 in fines and forfeit his handgun used in shooting. Police say the burglars were fleeing the scene at the time Niederhauser fired the shots, which they believe were unnecessary in stopping the suspects. Niederhauser has since apologized.

Remind me never to buy a house in Layton. They cannot catch the drug dealers, the gangs or it seems people who try to rob someones house. However they can charge and convict someone and take away that persons weapon for defending his home. Am I the only one that sees a problem here?

It’s probably not over with for Clare. Now the burglars will probably sue him. YES>>>There is a problem here.
