Mariano Rivera said he plans to let everyone know his decision closer to Opening Day.

‘‘I will tell you guys when I think it’s the right moment,’’ Rivera said.

The 43-year-old right hander had surgery June 12 to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

“It was wonderful to be out there again,” Rivera said.  “I was grateful.”

The 12-time All-Star said he never had any doubts that he wouldn’t be back on the mound pitching for the team who drafted him in 1990.

“I’m a positive man, so I always think positive,” Rivera said.  “There were many times that I had a lot of soreness, but it never went through my mind that I don’t want to do it again.”
