Maryland Stuns No. 2 Duke 83-81 In Thriller
Published at(COLLEGE PARK, MD) — Seth Allen hit two free throws with 2.8 seconds left to lead Maryland to a stunning 83-81 win over No. 2 Duke Saturday night.
The win snapped a six-game losing streak for Maryland against its bitter rival. The Terrapins (18-7, 6-6 ACC) did not trail after halftime.
Duke (22-3, 9-3) trailed by 10 points with under four minutes left but tied the game with 16.7 seconds remaining on three foul shots by Rasheed Suliamon.
Allen was fouled and made the two game-winning foul shots in the closing seconds.
It was the first win over Duke for head coach Mark Turgeon.
Duke was led by Seth Curry’s 25 points, while Quinn Cook added 18.
