Reggie Johnson tipped in a missed shot with 0.8 seconds left to give the Hurricanes a 79-78 win over N.C. State on Saturday at PNC Arena.

The win kept the Hurricanes (17-3) a perfect 8-0 in conference play.

Johnson had 15 points off the bench, but after Shane Larkin missed a jumper with four seconds left, he was there to tip it in. The play was set up after the Hurricanes grabbed the rebound and called a timeout off a miss from N.C. State freshman Tyler Lewis.

“Once we threw it inside and Reggie got it going, (the players) knew we should keep going to him,” Miami head coach Jim Larranaga said.

The Wolfpack (16-6) had a six point lead at the half, but could not hold off Miami in the second half. C.J. Leslie came off the bench to score 18 points to lead the way for N.C. State.

The Hurricanes have won nine games in a row.
