The Baltimore Ravens linebacker declared before the postseason that this would be his “last ride,” and after Sunday night it looks like that ride ended well.

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 Sunday, to win Super Bowl XLVII, and send the two-time defensive player of the year out on top.

“I walked in the game as a young pup at 17-years-old,” Lewis said. “And I leave the game as a full grown man as a two-time world champion. There is no better way to leave the game.”

Lewis, who led all players this postseason in tackles with 52, had seven tackles in the game, including two on the 49ers’ final drive.

The 37-year-old Lewis finishes his 17-year NFL career with 1,573 tackles, 41.5 sacks, 31 interceptions and 19 forced fumbles.
