Reds Not Dwelling on 2012
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Cincinnati Reds will begin their 2013 season after falling to the San Francisco Giants in the NLDS in historic fashion. After being up 2-0 last October, the Reds would go on to lose three straight and have an early exit from the playoffs after winning the NL Central.
“We have unfinished business,” second baseman Brandon Phillips told ESPN. “We have a mission and our mission is to get to the next round.”
Phillips admits that the people of Cincinnati are still dwelling on last season, but the team is focused solely on this year.
“We feel like we let everybody down, but things happen,” Phillips continued. “All we can really do is rebound from that and try and make something positive happen this year.”
The Reds will host the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on April 1.
