Shin Wins The Australian Women’s Golf Open
Published at(CANBERRA, Australia) — Two-time British Open champion Jiyai Shin of South Korea captured the Australian Women’s Golf Open on Sunday by two strokes over world No. 1 Yani Tseng.
Entering the final round, Shin was tied atop the leader board with 15-year-old Lydia Ko, but a double bogey and bogey on the first two holes gave Shin the lead.
Ko would fight her way back into a tie with Shin for the lead, but the 24-year-old took control for good on the 14th hole with a birdie.
Shin finished the round with a 1-under 72, while Ko took home third place in the tournament, four shots back of Shin.
