Their first Spring Training game will be against the re-loaded Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Feb. 23.  Tim Lincecum will be donning a new look as well.  The right-hander shed his shed his trademark long, flowing locks look for a GQ-style in the offseason.

“Every year transitioned into its own year,” Lincecum said on Friday.  “I’m taking every year differently and approaching this one with a fresh slate.”

In five relief appearances in the postseason, Lincecum threw 17 strikeouts and allowed one earned run over 13 innings to help the Giants win their second World Series title in three years.

“It’s the most selfless situation you can be in when you get in the playoffs and you’re just dying to make it to that next game,” the two-time NL Cy Young award winner said.  ”Right now, my perspective isn’t to be in the bullpen. My perspective is, I want to be a starter and I want to get back to that elite status that I was at.”

Lincecum was 10-15 with a 5.18 ERA and 190 strikeouts in 33 starts over 186 innings as a starter in the regular season.  Giants’ pitchers and catchers report to Scottsdale, Ariz. on Tuesday.
