(DAYTON, Ohio) — The top-seeded Indiana (28-6) Hoosiers made easy of (16) James Madison (21-15) 83-62 on Friday to move on in the East Region.
Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell scored 16 points, collected eight rebounds, and dished out six assists in the blowout win over the Dukes in the second round of the East Regional. Victor Olladipo chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds and Cody Zeller added 11 points of his own.
“I’ve been waiting for this all week,” said Ferrell. “A lot of us are jacked up to get out here, play against some different competition.”
Hoosiers forward Will Sheehey followed Ferrell’s performance with 15 to round out the top scorers in the rout. Indiana was up 43-22 at the half.
“I think we let our guard down a little bit late and we didn’t make many adjustments at that point,” Indiana head coach Tom Crean admitted when James Madison scored 40 in the second half.
