The sophomore scored all 23 of his points after halftime, including the game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation, as (4) Michigan came back to stun (1) Kansas 87-85, Friday night in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.
Burke’s triple tied the game at 76 to force the first overtime game of the tournament.
“This guy was a champ all the way through it,” Michigan coach John Beilein said about Burke.
Mitch McGary led Michigan (29-7), with 25 points as the Wolverines advanced to their first Elite Eight since the Fab Five era 19 years ago.
Ben McLemore paced Kansas (31-6) with 20 points as the Jayhawks’ season ended in stunning fashion.
