The Tigers had a five point lead with seconds remaining in the game when Saint Mary’s sophomore forward Elvidas Petrulis drilled  a three-pointer with 3.1 seconds on the clock. Memphis lost the ball off of an inbound pass but Dellavedova wasn’t able to convert the winning basket.

“Couldn’t be more proud of the team,” Saint Mary’s head coach Randy Bennett said. “They put everything they had into that game.”

Junior guard Joe Jackson led Memphis with a team-high 14 points.
