(SALT LAKE CITY, Ut.) — The first top-seeded team has fallen. The Gonzaga Bulldogs saw their tournament hopes come to an end after they fell to ninth-ranked Wichita State Shockers 76-70 on Saturday night in the West Region.
Ron Baker and Cleanthony Early added 16 points apiece in the stunning victory for the Shockers.
Wichita State guard Fred Van Vleet chipped in with 13.
Gonzaga star Kelly Olynyk scored 26 points in the loss. Kevin Pangos had 19, but was unable to knock down the big shot late in the game.
