Harry How/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) —  The Shockers have shocked the basketball world.

Malcolm Armstead scored 14 points as (9) Wichita State stunned (2) Ohio State 70-66 on Saturday night to advance to their first Final Four since 1965.

Fred Van Fleet added 12 points for the Shockers (30-8), who followed up last week’s win over top-ranked Gonzaga with a nail-biting victory over the second-seeded Buckeyes.

“Last year we were watching all this on television,” said Cleanthony Early, who scored 12 points for the Shockers. “Now I’m looking at a hat that says `Final Four Atlanta’ with my team on it. It’s crazy. I still can’t believe we’re here. You try to expect it, but you expect a lot of things that don’t happen. This really happened.”

Ohio State (29-8) was led by Deshaun Thomas’ 21 points.

Wichita State is the first team from the Missouri Valley Conference to make the Final Four since Larry Bird led Indiana State there in 1979.
