(IDAHO FALLS, ID) — A group of animal rights activists made a stop in Idaho Falls Wednesday, protesting Walmart’s pork suppliers. The group “Mercy for Animals” claims that Walmart gets its pork from suppliers that cruelly confine pigs in small metal crates where they’re fattened up before being slaughtered. Walmart officials dispute the allegations, noting that their suppliers follow industry models that are respectful to farmers and animals. The group plans to protest in Twin Falls and Boise later this week.
