Blackfoot Man Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charges

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – A Blackfoot man accused of killing an Idaho Falls woman earlier this year has pleaded not guilty. Twenty-two-year-old Adan Arroyo faces a first-degree murder charge for the killing of 21-year-old Kristy Aschilman. Arroyo allegedly shot Aschilman four times during an argument on Jan. 19 along Lincoln Road east of Idaho Falls. Arroyo was denied a request for bond on Wednesday. State officials have not determined whether they will seek the death penalty in the case. A pretrial hearing has been set for late July.
