Bomb Materials, Apparent Bloody Pants in Killer Evan Ebel’s Cadillac Seville

Colorado Department of Corrections(DALLAS) — The Colorado man implicated in the murder of state prisons chief Tom Clements last week had bomb-making materials and pants with apparent blood stains in his car, police said Tuesday.
Among the items found in the black Cadillac driven by suspect Evan Ebel were instructions on how to make a bomb, black powder, black powder “substitute,” a projectile and four cartridge cases.
Also found were “tan pants with apparent blood recovered from [a] cooler” in the trunk, according to a police evidence recovery log.
Ebel is believed to have been involved in the murder of Clements Tuesday, March 19, at Clements’ home in Colorado. The prisons executive was gunned down when he answered his front door.
Ebel was pulled over by police in Texas two days later and fired at deputies, launching a high-speed chase and shootout that ended when he was fatally struck by police gunfire.
Ballistics testing showed that the gun found on Ebel in the Texas shooting was the same one that was used to kill Clements. Police are trying to determine whether there are any other suspects who acted with Ebel in the murder.
Ebel is also a suspect in the murder of a pizza delivery man Sunday, March 17, in Denver.
Wise County, Texas, officials said Tuesday that Ebel’s car also contained a black backpack containing maps, Department of Corrections documents, three pages of handwritten directions that included Clements’ home address, and other handwritten documents.
He also had zip ties, a Domino’s pizza visor, a “heat bag” with a pizza box in it, duct tape, surveillance cameras and various clothing, police said.
“This young man was on a mission. He was not heading to Mexico,” Wise County Sheriff David Walker said.
He added that he believes Ebel was in Texas to see a friend who had visited him in prison.
