CBS Renews 18 Shows for Next Season

The network announced on Wednesday that it has renewed 18 of its series for the 2013-2014 season, including its top-rated hits NCIS and The Big Bang Theory.

One show is conspicuously absence from the list: Two and a Half Men.  CBS says it is in discussions with the show’s producer, Warner Bros. Television, regarding a potential 11th season.  The sitcom’s two main stars, Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher, are not under contract beyond the current season.

CBS has not yet announced the fate of CSI: NY and the freshmen dramas Vegas and Golden Boy.  The cast of Criminal Minds is currently negotiating new contracts, according to Deadline.com.

Aside from NCIS and The Big Bang Theory, CBS has picked up the following shows: How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person Of Interest, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, The Mentalist, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Undercover Boss, 60 Minutes, and 48 Hours.

As previously announced, the next season of How I Met Your Mother will be its last.
