Chipotle Drops Sponsorship of Boy Scouts

(SALT LAKE CITY, UT)  —  Outside pressure has prompted Chipotle Mexican Grill to pull its sponsorship of Boy Scout events. Several gay rights organizations have been lobbying various restaurants and businesses to boycott Scouting because of its long-standing ban on openly gay members and leaders. On Tuesday, Chipotle pulled $4,200 in coupons from Utah ‘s upcoming “Scout-o-Rama”. Company officials, pointing to Chipotle’s anti-discrimination policies, say they weren’t aware of Boy Scout rulings keeping gays out of the organization.
