Drug Trafficking Rising in East Idaho

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —  Idaho State Police have had several major drug busts in the past few months, all of which are part of a rise in drug trafficking along the I-15 corridor. Trooper Neil Stevens says  that since neighboring states have legalized marijuana, there has been an increase in smuggling other drugs as well, particularly methamphetamine. He says most drug busts don’t come from tipsters, but rather, routine traffic stops. Federal officials estimate that as many as 30 percent of Americans over the age of 12 have admitted to using illegal drugs
