(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – The U.S. Forest Service is $400 million over budget following last year’s busy fire season. Hundreds of millions of dollars were spent fighting fires in Idaho, California, and Colorado. Officials say they’ll have to use about 500 fewer firefighters nationwide for the 2014 fiscal year, and reduced numbers of air tankers and engines.
