(ATLANTA) — Harrison Ford has starred as Indiana Jones, Han Solo and even the President of the United States. Now the Oscar nominated actor is taking a seat alongside none other than local news legend Ron Burgundy.
Ford, 70, officially reported for duty on the Atlanta set of Anchorman: The Legend Continues, the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2004 hit Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
Ford, sporting darker hair for the part, is said to be playing the role of a “legendary newscaster” in the mold of longtime NBC newsman Tom Brokaw, opposite lead and co-writer Will Ferrell, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Incidentally, Ford starred as a newsman back in 2010, in the big screen comedy Morning Glory.
Kristen Wiig, of Saturday Night Live and Bridesmaids fame, has also joined the cast, which features the returning members of the Channel 4 News Team played by Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner.
The film is expected to be released by Paramount in December 2013.
