The game was tied with 2:01 left in the third quarter, but the Heat proceeded to go on a 20-2 run to put the game out of reach.

The Heat (56-14) once again won without Dwyane Wade. Wade missed his second straight game with a sore right knee.

With Wade out, others stepped up. Mario Chalmers had 17 points, Ray Allen and Chris Bosh both scored 12 and Rashard Lewis had 11 in the win.

The Magic (18-53) were led by point guard Jameer Nelson, who had 27 points, 12 assists and five rebounds in the loss.

After the game LeBron talked about the “streak.”

“Our historic run is about winning championships…that’s what we want to be known for,” James said. “But it’s a process, and whatever comes in-between that we can be excited about it. We didn’t have a goal in mind  saying lets go on a long consecutive win streak, but our goal in mind is to win each and every game we go out on the floor. It doesn’t happen like that every night…we know that. But that’s the way we approach the game.”

The Heat will look to keep its streak alive in Chicago Wednesday night, when it takes on the Bulls.
