TMZ.com reports Kordell filed for divorce March 22 in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia, claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” and the pair had already separated.

Porsha released a statement through a rep, saying she is “disappointed” by Kordell’s filing.  The rep says Porsha held off on filing for divorce because she was committed to the relationship and Kordell had promised to work on the marriage.  The rep claims Porsha was misled by Kordell, and “she found out about the filing in the media.”

The rep added, “Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith.”

In a recent ABC News Radio interview, Porsha said they met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in 2009. Kordell popped the question just a year later, and the two wed on May 21, 2011. They don’t have any children together, but Kordell has a nine-year-old son, Syre, from a previous relationship.

In the legal docs, Kordell states he doesn’t owe Porsha any spousal support, saying, “[She’s] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself.”

Fans of Real Housewives saw their relationship become strained as Porsha continued to grow her career, something that Kordell wasn’t fond of, especially since she also had a goal of becoming a mother. Still, Porsha was proud to be the lady by his side.

“Being a trophy wife per se is not just about your outer looks. It’s about the man who has put you on the pedestal and him admiring you and thinking well enough of you to put you up there,” she told ABC News Radio last week.
