(FONTANA, Calif.) — NASCAR driver Kyle Busch won Saturday’s running of the Royal Purple 300, giving Joe Gibbs Racing their ninth consecutive Nationwide victory at the Auto Club Speedway.
The 27-year-old Busch secured the checkered flag on the second to last lap when Sam Hornish Jr. brushed the wall. It’s Busch’s second consecutive victory and third in five races this season.
“Got up on the wheel and just try to push hard, as hard as I could,” Busch said of overtaking Hornish. “Run the top side there a little bit and ran him down, got there, was able to do a draft move by him.”
Hornish finished in second, followed by Regan Smith, Parker Kligerman and Austin Dillon.
