The Cardinals finished 29-5 and won the Big East tournament title on Saturday night after they defeated Syracuse.  Louisville finished 14-4 in the Big East and will play the winner of North Carolina A&T and Liberty.

In the South region, Kansas (29-5) received the No. 1 seed.  The Jayhawks, who reached the Final Four last season, will take on Western Kentucky.  Their last national title came in 2008.

Indiana (27-6) claimed the No. 1 spot in the East and will take on the winner of the LIU vs. James Madison game.  The Hoosiers’ last Final Four appearance came in 2002.

Rounding out the four No. 1 seeds will be Gonzaga in the West region.  Gonzaga has never made it to the Final Four and are hoping the play of Kelly Olynyk, who is leading the team in scoring (17.5 ppg), can get them there.

The Zags (31-2) will take on the Southern U. Jaguars (23-9).

The defending champion Kentucky Wildcats did not receive a spot in this year’s tournament after finishing the season 21-11.
