(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) — The New York Giants agreed to a contract with free-agent wide receiver Louis Murphy on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 25-year-old Murphy was originally drafted by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL draft. In 41 games with Oakland, Murphy had 90 receptions for 1,371 yards and six touchdowns.
Before the start of last season, the Raiders traded Murphy to Carolina. In 16 games with the Panthers, he caught 25 passes for 336 yards and one touchdown.
On the college gridiron, Murphy won the BCS National Championship twice, in 2007 and 2009, as a member of the Florida Gators.
