The Spartans (22-7, 11-5), had the ball with the shot clock off and the game tied at 56 before Burke made one of his two game-winning plays on defense.

Burke’s steal and dunk gave the Wolverines the lead, but a foul on Tim Hardaway Jr. put Derrick Nix at the line.  He made 1-of-2 free-throws to close the gap to 58-57.

Mitch McGary missed the front end of a 1-and-1 and Michigan State had the ball down one with a chance to win the game, before Burke stepped in.

Burke stole the ball away from Gary Harris as the buzzer sounded, giving the Wolverines the win.

Adreian Payne led the Spartans in defeat with 17 points.

Michigan State’s loss clinches at least a share of the Big Ten title for Indiana.
