North Korea Readying Plans to Strike US?

Ed Jones/AFP/Getty Images(TOKYO) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un continued his tough talk against the United States on Friday, saying the time had come to "settle accounts with the U.S."

According to state media, Kim had prepared his forces to "strike at any time," signing off on a rocket preparation plan with missiles aimed directly at American targets.

South Korean media said more activity has been seen at North Korea's missile sites.  Meanwhile, photos released in Pyongyang showed Kim discussing what appeared to be flight plans with military officers in front of a map with the headline "U.S. mainland strike plan."

In Pyongyang on Friday, thousands gathered in Kim Il Sung Square in support of Kim's strong words.  The rally comes one day after the Pentagon flew B-2 stealth bombers over the Korean Peninsula.

Kim has repeatedly threatened to strike the U.S., as well as American bases in South Korea, Japan and Guam.  But experts say North Korea has yet to prove they are capable of striking the U.S. mainland with a nuclear weapon or ballistic missile.
