(BEREA, Ohio) — Fresh off a Super Bowl victory with the Baltimore Ravens, linebacker Paul Kruger will now have a new home in Cleveland in 2013.
Kruger signed a five-year, $40 million deal — including $20 million guaranteed — with the Browns.
He’s looking forward to meeting his new teammates.
“It’s been a long process to get to this point and it’s just really exciting to be here,” Kruger said on Wednesday. “I’m excited to be a Cleveland Brown and be a part of something special.”
Kruger led the Ravens with nine sacks during the regular season and 4.5 in the playoffs. He hopes he can bring that same leadership over to the Browns defense.
“It’s been a great experience I’ve had with the Ravens and I’m very blessed to be able to play with that team,” Kruger said. “I’m really hoping to bring a lot of those things I learned from that organization and that team and those players and bring those things I learned here.”
Despite going 5-11 in 2012, Kruger believes the Browns are a team on the rise.
