Matt Cooke and James Neal both scored in the third to secure the victory.

The Penguins overcame an injury to Sidney Crosby, who was hit in the face by a puck and did not return.  Pittsburgh went 15-0-0 in the month of March, the first perfect month in NHL history.

Tomas Vokoun stopped 25 shots for the Penguins (28-8-0, 56 pts), who moved to within two wins of the NHL record of 17 straight victories set by the 1992-93 Penguins.

The game was the Pittsburgh debut for six-time All-Star Jarome Iginla, who was acquired earlier in the week from the Calgary Flames.

New York (16-16-3, 35 pts) had their three-game winning streak snapped.
