Despite that, head coach John Harbaugh thinks it is just part of the business.

“The worst mistake you can make is trying to hold a team together,” Harbaugh said. “It’s impossible.”

Through free agency and trades, the Ravens have lost Bernard Pollard, Bobbie Williams, Anquan Boldin, Dannell Elerbe, Paul Kruger, and Cary Williams. To make matters worse, Ray Lewis just retired and they may lose safety Ed Reed to free agency.

“The 2012 world champion Ravens will walk together forever,” Harbaugh added. “That team will be together forever. The 2013 Ravens are going to attack the season with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.”

Harbaugh has coached the Ravens since 2008 and helped bring the franchise their second ever Super Bowl championship.
