Reduction in Workforce Coming at INL
Published at(IDAHO FALLS, ID) — Administrators at the Idaho National Laboratory are firing 101 employees in the next few weeks. Workforce restructuring has forced Battelle Energy Alliance to terminate the positions. Since the last layoffs, 114 people voluntarily left, while another 60 left through normal attrition. Officials say it amounts to an employee reduction of around seven percent. Given current federal cuts to the nuclear energy industry, it’s likely that more jobs will be eliminated in the near future.
