(RIGBY, ID)  —  Rigby Police have apparently secured a potentially dangerous situation at Rigby Jr. High., thwarting a plot in which one student was allegedly intending to do harm to another.  Jefferson County Officials say they received information late Monday about a potential threat in which the school was the target.   Investigating officers found the suspected teenager, and found he had compiled a list of classmates at the school to cause harm.   The suspect’s parents were instrumental in the investigation as police came upon a bag of weapons, including several firearms in the boy’s home.   The suspect is currently in custody, and will be undergoing a mental health evaluation.

Rigby Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are conducting the investigation.    There were no injuries at the school today, and it did not have to be locked down.

Well thats just nice! I am scared to death to send my children to school already. Homeschooling is looking sweeter and sweeter!

      I agree :)

Hate to break it to you, but schools are one of the safest places for kids to be. Think about it: those weapons were at the boy’s home, not at his school. Far more kids are shot outside of school than at a school.
