“The Voice” Draws 13.4 Million Viewers for Season Premiere

NUP 152390 0774JPG?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1364376447159Mark Seliger/NBC(LOS ANGELES) — No Christina Aguilera and no Cee Lo Green?  No problem for The Voice, which kicked off its fourth season on Monday night and held its own against Dancing with the Stars in the ratings.

The NBC singing competition returned to an audience of 13.4 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The episode marked the debut of coaches Usher and Shakira, who are filling in for Aguilera and Green this season.

ABC’s Dancing with the Stars won the head-to-head matchup, pulling in 14.1 million viewers.  However, it lost three million viewers from its season premiere last week.

The top-rated primetime program last week was the CBS hit NCIS, which drew 19.8 million viewers.

CBS won the network ratings race for last week, followed by ABC, Fox, NBC, Univision, the CW, Telemundo and ION Television.

Here are the top 10 primetime network and cable programs for the week of March 18-24, according to the Nielsen Company:

1. NCIS, CBS, 19.79 million
2. Dancing with the Stars, ABC, 17.06 million
3. NCIS: Los Angeles, CBS, 16.84 million
4. American Idol (Wednesday), Fox, 12.94 million
5. American Idol (Thursday), Fox, 11.93 million
6. Criminal Minds, CBS, 11.58 million
7. Castle, ABC, 11.26 million
8. The Walking Dead, AMC, 10.99 million
9. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS, 10.53 million
10. 60 Minutes, CBS, 10.5 million
