Woods finished the tournament 19-under two strokes better than runner up Steve Stricker.

Speaking of Stricker, he spent 45 minutes with Woods on the putting green the day before the tournament started. Stricker was helping Woods with his putting posture. It must have worked because Woods finished with 27 birdies, one off his PGA best.

“He basically got me in the same position as I was at Torrey (Pines)…the body posistion,” Woods said when talking about Stricker. “Once he put me in there where I felt comfortable I thought, ‘this is not too foreign, this is what I was a month or so ago.’ Then I started rolling it and it felt really, really good…and I basically carried it through the entire week.”

The win was Tigers 76th on the PGA Tour. If he wins in two weeks at Bay Hill, Woods will take back the No. 1 world ranking.
