(DORAL, Fla.) — Tiger Woods made nine birdies in the opening round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship on Thursday, to finish 6-under at 66. The 14-time major champion is in a five-way tie atop the leader board along with defending Masters champion Bubba Watson, Graeme McDowell, Sergio Garcia and Fredrik Jacobson.
The world’s number one ranked golfer, Rory McIlroy had a rough day on the links, shooting a 1-over 73 that included six bogeys.
Four-time major champion Phil Mickelson finished the day 5-under at 67, putting him one shot off the lead.
