Tiger Woods Wins At Bay Hill, Regains No. 1 Ranking
Published at(ORLANDO, FL) — Tiger Woods is No. 1 in the world once more.
After the conclusion of the tournament was postponed Sunday due to inclement weather, Woods came back on Monday to earn a two-shot victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, regaining his ranking as the world’s top golfer.
“It’s a byproduct of hard work, patience and getting back to winning golf tournaments,” Woods said.
He wrapped up his eighth title at Bay Hill with an 8-iron out of a fairway bunker on the par-5 16th that easily cleared the water and landed safely on the green for a two-putt birdie.
Justin Rose finished second, while Mark Wilson, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, and Gonzalo Fdez-Castano had to settle for a four-way tie for third.
Woods previously had not been ranked No. 1 in the world since 2010.
