(NEW YORK) — The latest free agent member of the Baltimore Ravens has left the nest as safety Bernard Pollard has signed a one-year deal with the Tennesse Titans.
Pollard had signed a three-year extension with the team just last season, but salary cap issues made him expendable in Baltimore. Despite signing on with a new team, Pollard admitted it was hard to leave the Ravens.
“Oh wow, I can’t say enough about Baltimore,” Pollard said. “They were great to me and my family. I will cherish that experience and the relationships I built with the people there for the rest of my life.”
In 13 games last season, Pollard led the Ravens with 98 tackles and made 17 tackles for the team in the postseason during their Super Bowl run..
“Pollard is a big, physical, experienced safety,” Titans general manager Ruston Webster said in a statement. “He was a key contributor for th Super Bowl winners last year and his physicality and his experience will help us.”
Over the past six seasons, only Roman Harper has more tackles at the safety position.
