(POCATELLO, ID)  —  The U.S. Department of Labor has ordered Union Pacific in Pocatello to pay more than $309,000 in back wages to a former conductor. Officials say the man reported a work-related injury involving a co-worker in 2009. The man reportedly told officials to resolve the safety hazard, and was fired as a result. The railroad has since been ordered to post a notice to its employees about whistle-blower rights. The Omaha, Nebraska-based company employs an estimated 900 people at its Pocatello facility.
