Young announced on Wednesday that he will work out for scouts at the pro day at the University of Texas on March 26 in an attempt to prove that he can still play in the league.

Before he can accomplish that, Young wants a clean slate with the demons of his NFL past.

The 29-year-old recently sent a letter to St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher, who coached him when they were both with the Tennessee Titans, apologizing for his behavior when they were together.

“I definitely wanted to apologize for the things that I did, letting him know about the frustration, a lot of different things that was going on in my life at the time, and want him to know that I really did appreciate him trying to make me become one of those type of leaders on the team, a successful quarterback,” Young said.

Young was cut by the Buffalo Bills before the 2012 season began and has yet to sign with a team since.
